Fruitful

by Dean Rerekura

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

He wants us to trust Him and He has given us every reason to!
To trust in him is to put our confidence in him.
Not confidence in our own ability – but in his power.
Not confidence in our own finances – but in his provision.
Not confidence in our own knowledge – but in his mercy.
Not confidence in our own benevolence – but in his grace.

You see, we like to invest in things so that we might get a good return.
But there is only one investment that has guaranteed growth.
Trust in God produces more trust in God – because no matter what the situation, God proves faithful.
Trust makes our roots in his fertile soil grow deeper.
Trust makes our trust in his streams of living water produce a well, which makes us a fountain, overflowing with Christlikeness.

Trust turns his faithfulness into our fruitfulness.

And the whole world needs that!

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
