Forever

by Dean Rerekura

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

Psalm 89:1-2

The weekend get together was so good, you wished it would never end.
The movie went for nearly three hours, but you were so into the story, the time just flew by.
It’s already June, where did this year go?!

Time stands still for no one, but there are those times in your life when you wished time didn’t matter.

There will be a time when time will not matter.
When “what’s next”, won’t even be considered.
When the schedule will be thrown out the window (I can’t wait for that).

Imagine this…

I will sing forever, but forever will not be long enough to give praise for His love.
I will make it own to everyone, but a conversation about the enormous impact of His amazing love with every single person on the planet would not exhaust the topic.

A son falls over. The father picks up his son and tells him that he loves him, and then carries him. The father doesn’t love the son more after he’s picked him up.
And you know what, the son isn’t any more carried after, then before he fell.

To know you are loved, to be told you are loved, to experience that love every day.
I know I am loved. God has told me. God has shown me.
He has picked me up after I’ve fallen – many, many times.

So yes, I will ‘sing’ of the Lord’s great love forever – will you?

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
