You Are God

by Dean Rerekura

Today I need to remember that you are God and I am not.

Your way is perfect and left to my own ways, I am lost.
Your word is flawless, but my choice of words are often self-centred.
Your shield is a wall of refuge, and without you I am vulnerable.

Today I need to remember that there is no God besides you, that all others are futile.
There is no better rock to stand on, for all other ground is sinking sand.
Today I need to remember that your strength is more than sufficient.
And I am secure and assured, I am safe and can rest in your grace.

Today, wherever I go, help me remember these things, and to live my life centred on this truth.

As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
