Lord, help me not to trust in anything that might take my eyes off you.
Help me not to rely on my wisdom, but rely on the One who is all wise and gives wisdom to us all.
Help me not to have confidence in my strength, but instead, have confidence in the One whose strength lifts the weary and carries the burdens that are too heavy for me.
Help me not to put my hope in my riches, but put my hope in the One who gives treasures that I can never lose.
Lord, where else have we to go, for You are the One who gives knowledge, kindness, justice and righteousness.
You give us what we are crying out for the most.
All wrapped up in the One who took on flesh and dwelt amongst us.
If I boast in anything, I will boast in The Lord.
This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight”, declares the LORD.
