My Prayer for You

by Dean Rerekura

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

My friend, this is my prayer for you.
That you would know God’s calling, and trust in his ability to help you live it.
Your calling is to make much of Jesus Christ in a world that doesn’t know him.
Your calling is to know Jesus Christ in a world that doesn’t believe in Him.
Your calling is to obey Jesus’ words and glorify Jesus’ name in all that you do, not to gain merit, but because you are loved.

My prayer for you is that God would provide all the power and faith you need to trust him in your words and actions.
Knowing that His power provides for the needs of the world.
Knowing that his power helps to relieve pain.
Knowing that his power welcomes the stranger and includes the outcast.
Knowing that faith in Christ as small as a mustard seed is able to change the world.
Power and faith, not so you can be deemed worthy, but so that you can know you are loved.

My prayer for you is that God’s glory and grace will be all over your life.
So that His glory might guide you like it guided his people in the dessert.
So that his glory might fill you, like it filled the Holy Temple.
So that his glory might be evident in you, like it is evident in the heavens.
So that his grace might provoke in you service, generosity, compassion and mercy, to a world that need to know that God is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Glory and grace, not so you will be accepted by God, but to help people see that you already are.

So today, wherever you go, my prayer is that you will go called, in power and faith, in glory and grace, for the sake of the One who saved you- the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
