There is a tendency to read this verse and think of other people!
But Jesus did not mean for us to do that.
We are all sick – and we need a Doctor for our soul!
We are sinners – and we need a Saviour to forgive us!
Jesus is the One who took on my sin, so I can be forgiven today.
Jesus is the righteous One who covered over my unrighteousness, so I can be included today.
If you are a Christian, this verse is not about other people, it is about you and me, today.
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
