Judas has come to betray Jesus.
And Jesus calls him ‘friend’.
Judas has taken a bribe to sell out the Saviour of the world.
And Jesus calls him ‘friend’.
Judas hands over the One who accepted the rejected, healed the sick, loved the forsaken and had compassion on the hurting.
And Jesus calls him ‘friend’.
Judas identifies him with a ‘Judas kiss’.
And Jesus calls him ‘friend’.
My friend, there is nothing you, or anyone else could do, or have done, that could stop Jesus from loving you.
That’s why it’s called Amazing Grace.
Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.
