Slaughtered Lamb

by Dean Rerekura

I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more."

Jeremiah 11:19

He knows what it is like!

To be innocent, but condemned as guilty.
To have done nothing wrong, but to be treated as if you had.
To be harshly condemned, and to be on the end of the evil intentions of others.

Jesus knows what it is like.

You have known the pain of false accusation – so has He.
You have knows to injustice of lies that were believed – so has He.
You have felt the force of the assault of evil – so has He.
You know the pain of the condemnation mud that sticks – so has He.

They sought to erase his memory, but he is more known and remembered today than ever.
They failed. He succeeded. He won. He is Lord. He is Saviour.

He carries you. He will not let you down.

I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.”
